PG&E or Pacific Gas & Electric has been operating one rickety power line close to the one which had ignited the wildfire in the year 2018 and had wiped out the city of Paradise in Northern California thereby killing as many as 85 people as per an expert.
In the inspection which had taken place only two months ago, the expert who was hired by the attorneys of the victims of wildfire had found one power line which had rusty equipment and a few of the parts had been wrapped with something that appeared to be like an electric tape for a period of close to one year. The expert had compared these power lines to one year ago and said that the concerns about safety were still prevalent. PG&E had altered on these lines before these lines had been made public as per the expert.
There were potential hazards which had been spotted along this transmission’s lines as there was a piece of equipment with was rusting and there was one which had failed in the year 2018 and had been blamed for the wildfire which made a lot of people suffer during that time.
In their statement, PG&E had said that it had re-inspected these problems which were flagged by the expert hired by the victims and it had maintained that there was no issue with regard to safety immediately. However they had also acknowledged that the equipment needed some fixing which they are still in the process of doing but they will make sure that the repairs are made as per the recommendations of the reports by this expert. The company ensured its commitment to the issue
