With the flu season ramping up all across the United States, there have been reports of deaths of two older women in Iowa. Now it has been confirmed that in Texas the first paediatric casualty of the year due to flue has happened. The victim was a young child who had not been vaccinated.
On Friday, the officials of Iowa had announced that a woman who was in the age range of 61-80 years had passed away and there was one in aged 81 who also succumbed to the disease.
Texas has reported that a child who was five years old and belonged to the Rio Grande region has passed on the same day.
Since the victim who was five years old had not been vaccinated in Texas, the officials have been stressing particularly that the parents must take the young children and get them vaccinated since they are more prone to serious complications due to flu which may even turn out to be deadly.
Experts have said that the flu virus is potentially illness causing and may even lead to death. This is a case especially with those who are very young or those who are very old or the ones who are living in and around unhealthy conditions.
They have further said that at this time a flu shot is necessary for the protection of loved ones from being sick due to flu as the disease spreads further.
Flu has been known to be a disease which is unpredictable and has its feet all over the world.
The number of lives it is going to claim is dependent on the number of people who are going to be vaccinated against it and how close the shot is to the strain of the flu.
