Google announced on Thursday that it’s annual I/O developer conference for 2020 will be held on May 12th, May 13th, and May 14th. Google had launched a collaborative game to announce when the I/O 2020 would be happening this year. The game had users participating online with an aim of restoring a fictional satellite network. Once the users restored the satellite and completed the game, the constellation of satellites displayed the dates.
Google’s 2019 I/O event revealed the budget friendly Google Pixel 3A and Google Pixel 3A XL. The I/O 2020 is expected to unveil the Pixel 4A which could well be a pleasant surprise for many Pixel fans across the globe. Of leaks are to be believed, the Pixel 4A will house a square camera shelf coupled with a 3.5mm headphone jack and a hole-punch display. The I/O could well see some new feature announcements to the Google Assistant along with a few new launches for Google Nest. The event might as well serve as the teaser for upcoming Android updated but with Android Q rolled out recently, the next Android update is less expected. As for the venue is concerned, the I/O 2020 will be held at the same venue as the I/O 2019, Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View.
Talking about Google, the company recently announced the completion of a new multiyear deal with Activision Blizzard for serving their different game hosting requirements. The deal also includes exclusive streaming rights for YouTube for all Activision e-sports events, including the Call Of Duty League and Overwatch League. The deal is a big win for YouTube in their battle with Twitch and Microsoft’s Mixer in the live game streaming industry. The first two seasons of the Overwatch League were live streamed exclusively by Twitch.
